For over 60 years Cross Manufacturing has maintained a lead in the development and manufacture of mechanical seals for extreme environments.

Brush seals are now established as a proven technology in the aerospace and power generation industries, offering significant efficiency improvements over traditional labyrinth seals.

A brush seal contains many thousands of fine wires, forming an effective barrier to flow whilst accommodating shaft excursions, thermal movements and misalignments that would instantly reduce the efficiency of a labyrinth seal.

Cross brush seals contribute to increased efficiency, both in new equipment and as a part of performance upgrade packages on existing equipment. Originating in the aerospace industry, our brush seals have now been in field service applications for countless thousands of hours, demonstrating sustained performance benefits.

The ability to carry out cost effective dynamic hot testing, closely replicating full size engine conditions, whilst concurrently engineering the production of engine hardware, ensures that we achieve minimum time to market for our customers.
