Our static joint rings are designed to seal the joint between the nozzle ring and housing for certain variable vane designs. They help minimise losses in the VGT system by sealing against lost pressure and bypass of the turbine wheel through to the exhaust outlet. The rings are able to cope with the stresses and strains that alter the shape of the turbo components at high temperatures, forcing more of the exhaust gases around the turbine wheel to produce a more efficient compressor system.
Made from cobalt-based superalloys and typically square in ring section.
