Dynamic seals are a critical part of Variable Geometry Turbos (VGTs) which combine the benefits of both large and small turbos by widening the response range of one turbo to get the boost range needed. This is achieved by a swinging set of radial vanes that are adjusted by an axially sliding mechanism to vary the air flow through the turbo in correlation to engine speed. Our dynamic sealing rings create an effective seal against the axially moving components and provide the backpressure needed for the mechanism to function.
Our proprietary forging process produces dynamic sealing rings of the highest quality, whilst minimising waste and optimising use of the high value exotic and temperature-resistant alloys needed to withstand the very high temperatures of exhaust gases.
